Meet your coach
I'm Andrew, a triathlon and endurance coach based in the UK, working with athletes remotely, one to one. I'm a long-time endurance athlete myself: I've raced iron-distance triathlons, guided bike trips, crossed Patagonia solo and raced across the Atlas Mountains.
I work with 70.3, Ironman, marathon and ultra athletes, and equally with people who want to get fitter and healthier with no race in mind. I care about the result, and just as much about you enjoying the process and staying healthy through it.
Why I Coach
Years of figuring out my own training, through the books, the courses and a lot of trial and error, gave me a real appetite for understanding human performance. That took me into further study and then coaching, which lets me keep learning, and I love that every athlete teaches me something new about how training actually works, not just how it's supposed to work on paper.
I get real joy out of finding the sweet spot together, where real progress happens, and that is different for every person. For someone fitting training around a busy job and family, that might be finding the sessions they can genuinely keep up week after week. For an experienced iron-distance athlete, it might mean going right down into the data to find marginal gains.
Because no two athletes are the same, each person I work with is a different puzzle: from their body and history to their goals and the life their training has to fit around. Figuring out how those pieces fit together, and which approach each person needs rather than applying training methods wholesale, is most of the job, and the part I enjoy.
Alongside the performances and race results, what I find most rewarding is getting to know each athlete: how they think about and respond to life and training. I like the mental side as much as the physical, whether that's reassuring someone mid-block that they're exactly on track or reminding them to give themselves a break after a hard session instead of spiralling on it. I genuinely care about helping people reach their goals, feel better in their day-to-day lives and build a healthy, sustainable relationship with exercise, not one that runs on guilt or all-or-nothing thinking.
